Australia and New Zealand will jointly host 11th ICC Cricket World Cup being held in 2015. While the venue of the final is yet to be decided, the location of other games will be shared in an even manner.
At the time of awarding the rights of hosting the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, which New Zealand and Australia had bid to host originally, the hosting rights of 2015 and the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cups were also awarded. The four Test cricket playing Asian countries, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan begged the 2011 tournament , in a 10 against 3 vote (because of the attack of terrorists on the Sri Lanka cricket team, Pakistan subsequently lost its hosting rights). Being sufficiently overwhelmed with the trans-Tasman bid, the International Cricket Council determined to award the next World Cup to New Zealand and Australia, while the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup was awarded to England.
